American Educational Hardness Collection with Test Kit

The American Educational 2356 hardness collection with test kit is used for geological study, and has nine mineral specimens for testing on the traditional hardness scale. The collection is number coded and includes a key sheet for identification. The 2356 has a compartmented tray for display and storage, with specimens that measure 1 x 1-1/2 inches (L x W). (L is the horizontal distance from left to right; W is the horizontal distance from front to back.) Specimens in this collection may vary, based on availability at the time the product is packaged. The collection’s test kit includes a streak plate, glass plates, and nail for hands-on learning. The 2356 is suitable for grades 6 to 12 and ages 11 to 18.

    Perfect for the purpose

    Excellent I used this several of these kits for a geology class. They arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The kit was easy to use and the samples were a good size (over an inch). They were labeled nicely and the included hardness testers were great. I also used hand lenses, microscopes, magnets and HCl for testing. The kids were thoroughly engaged. Just note that the glass slide and scratch plate don’t fit int he cubicles of the box as shown, when closes. Not a big problem. The documentation was…
